At this time of year many people shrink away from outdoor adventures and move towards hibernation as the evenings draw in and the temperatures start to drop.  There are howver lots of reasons not to sleep the Autumn and Winter months away.  Staying healthy, not putting on weight before Christmas and just realising that you can still get out and have fun, might just provide the motivation to avoid the winter doldrums.

There is definitely life after summer.  At this time of year our trips to Wild Cat Island remain as popular as ever.  Whilst Hedgehogs might look for sheltering in the Autumn leaves,  pirates young and old can still build a shelter of their own on Wild Cat Island.  Dramatic views over the lake can be, quite litterally, the highlight of the day.

No Hedge Hogs here…just pirates.

As well as these family trips, the focus of our sessions moves from stag and hen parties to people wanting to learn skills.  Becoming independent; being in control of  your own outdoor adventures makes for an exciting challenge and can allow you to choose your own path through the outdoors.  The key to success is to have the right equipment and know how to use it.  Autumn is a great time to learn the joys of outdoor adventures on the rivers but you do need knowledge and equipment to do this safely.  Joint Adventures can help you do this.  We will be running courses on demand so get in touch with us to find out more.

If water is not your thing then you might prefer to work on your navigation skills and improve your ability to stay safe on the hills in winter.  Whatever you choose to do our aim is to improve your enjoyment of outdoor activities.  We know that an active life is a happy and healthy life and winter really shouldn’t stop you.
