More and more people are doing an adventure activity as part of their Stag or Hen party.  Here is our quick guide to choosing your activities.

We offer either a day (two activities roughly 10 am until about 4:30 pm) or a half day (one activity 10am until about 1 pm or 2 pm until about 5 pm).  We can also provide lunches although there are plenty of places to get something to eat in the village.

Most popular activities

Gorge scrambling and canyoning are the most popular activity we do and are popular with stag and hen parties. This is particularly true between April and October.  March is about the earliest time of year to gorge scramble and November through to the end of February is usually a bit too cold for most people even with our winter wetsuits and wetsuit gloves.

Canyoning is definitely for the more adrenaline fuelled activity seekers and is not for everyone.  For this reason we nearly  always run this session as a hybrid mixture of going up the beck (which is the gorge scramble) and coming down which is the canyon).  For a stag or hen party this variety works really well if the group is a mixed range of ages.  It also accommodates the thrill seekers and those who want a more relaxing activity.

First groups must build the raft

Raft building is a great activity for those where there is a mixture of ages in the group.  The first bit is a dry land exercise building the raft.  Those with a creative or design flair can get stuck in.

Next you paddle the raft on the water so there is scope for the competitive when racing and those who just want wet fun games and making sure the stag or hen gets a dunking.  We also get a few groups who choose to stay relatively dry!

Archery and tag archery have become really popular in the last couple of years.  This is a land based activity so

suitable for all year around.  In winter you keep warm by playing tag games which involve running around shooting arrows at each other.  In summer you wear shorts and T shirts.  Archery also requires a lower level of fitness and mobility than some of the other activities so is possibly suitable for parents of the happy couple or even grand parents.

Canoeing and kayaking are also popular party activities.  You can choose a relaxed journey on a lake or a session full of more fun and games and getting wet.  Our kayaks are stable and we have a variety of kayaks which suit a variety of people.  All our kayaks are single boats.  Most sessions involve a mixture of a journey and some games.
