Being comfortable is all part of the game when taking part in outdoor activities. Striking the balance between too much and too little clothing needs a bit of thought. Having two or three thin layers of clothing is much better than having just one thick layer. Cotton is a poor choice of fabric if there is any chance of it getting wet. Football type shirts made of a nylon type material are good. Synthetic fleece or woollen material makes a good second layer. Finally, if it's wet and windy, a wind/water proof top keeps you warm and dry.
For all water based activities we will provide full wetsuits and waterproofs. Full wetsuits cover arms and legs fully. Many other providers just give you a "Long John" which leaves arms and shoulders exposed and so water easily flushes through making you colder. We also have a small selection of winter weight wetsuits and if we don't have your size we can give you 2 summer ones just to keep you toasty warm.
If it's summer then you have the option not to wear a wetsuit. For gorge scrambling we recommend you wear one of our wetsuits even in Summer.
