What is it?

Originally meant for people with GPS receivers, Geo-caching is like going on a treasure hunt.  Exciting as you home in on your target, and rewarding as you develop your navigational skills.  Each cache consists of a waterproof container with note book and pencil, and some little treasures.  You arrive at a cache, record your find in a log book, and swap some little treasure.  Most caches contain toys or little curiosities.  The idea is that people leave something and take something.  These items should not include food or other perishable things.

How do you start?

You need will need a 1:25,000 scale map of the area in which the geo-cache is located, and depending on how good your navigation is a GPS may be needed.
