Kayaking

In the Lake District
Activity Overview

Kayaking in the Lake District has something for every one. Exploring our lakes by kayak is a fantastic experience.  Most of our kayaking sessions are best done with people of a minimum age of 12 or 13.  For people below that age we can offer canoeing or even mixing both canoes and kayaks for a family orientated session.  If you want to know the difference between canoes and kayaks click here

There are many ways to get involved. From fun sessions messing about on the water, to longer journeys on lakes and rivers.  Joint Adventures offers the following  sessions:

For taster sessions we use closed cockpit kayaks with a single seat.  They are stable and easy to control and are bought with comfort in mind.  Our flat water and beginners kayaks are very stable, and are easy to get to go in a straight line. Larger paddlers get larger boats!  Taster sessions are meant to let you know if getting in a kayak is for you and aims to get you learning in a fun and enjoyable way.
