This photo trail takes you from Langdale over to Coniston.  There is a National Trust car park at Old Dungeon Ghyll (GR28612, 06095).  There is plenty of parking in Coniston village, although you may be limited to the secondary school playground at peak times in school holidays.  A suitable map to use is the OS Explorer OL6, which covers the South-western Lakes.  This walk is about 13 km, with an ascent of just under 700m.  Allow at least 5 hours for this walk.

Please Take Care.  This is a high level walk.  It is essential that you have a map, compass, and whistle, and that you are proficient in using them.  Click here for an elevation profile.
